Fuel Management Error
My 2008 LS3 displayed the check engine icon. The error was reported as a "fuel mangagement error". The dealership has been unable to get advice from technical support. Does anyone know, or has anyone had the same error message.
I should mention that the check engine icon went on last Thursday afternoon, and then was off when the car was started on Saturday morning.

The easiest thing it could be is the gas cap. It has to be seated completely, tightly or the computer throws a code. You have to put the cap on and spin it it at least 5 or 6 clicks. The code will clear itself it this is the problem. Sounds like it already cleared based on your statement.

It can take several ignition on-off cycles before the error clears.. give it some time.. you might be fine.

sounds like the old loose gas cap to me.....
I've never heard it referred to as "fuel management error" but on a brand new stock car that doesn't show any actual symptoms, it's certainly logical.
