I'm thinking about getting the flowmaster dual tip mufflers but am a little worried about 'drone'. I have auto transmission.
I had a 2001 Firebird Formula LS1 auto with slp loudmouth (resonator only) exhaust. I liked the sound (most of the time) but it was almost unbareable at expressway speeds.
Since the flowmaster setup uses mufflers compared to a resonator, can I assume the drone at expressway speeds would be quiter than the loudmouth drone?
I have had the Flowmaster dual tips for about 6 mos. now. I love them. They do drone quite a bit at around 1500 rpms, but to me it is not a big problem. Drone is a subjective thing though.
What is no big problem for me is obviously a big problem for others.
I got the single tip flowmasters a couple of years ago. THey did drone quite a bit but I made some resonator inserts that solved the problem. There is not enough room in the dual tips to do that though.
