When I picked up my '08 vert. at the museum, I was able to open the trunk with a push of the button above the license. It worked on the way home to Montana too. Now I can not open the trunk with the button, but I can open it with the FOB.
Anyone else with this issue? Any suggestions? Things to try? I did play with the program modes, but I don't see who that would effect the trunk release button operation.
Help! It's driving me nuts, and everything is suppose to work on a new Vette!

The button for the trunk is to the lower left of the steering wheel. I don't think there is one above the rear license plate .
I'll try that, but it was not necessary before, and it's an A6 anyhow, so that should not be an issue. At this point, I'll try anything.
Do you have your fob with you when you try it? That is the only other criteria that must be met. You are right, if you have an A6 the parking brake shouldn't come in to play. Many with the MN6 have had issues and that is usually the cause of their dilemma
You are correct Paul, I just went out to the garage to check, and mine does not work either
There was a problem with the early cars. Lack of use will contribute to them not working and there was also a TSB. If all is mechanically sound, in order to use it you must have your fob, if it is an MN6 the parking brake must be set. If it is an auto, it must be in park.

Well then mine must fall into the lack of use category because it's been 2 1/2 years and I never knew it was there. All the other buttons that I knew of prior to today work just fine. Off to go read the manual
Keep the ideas and suggestions coming. No solution yet, but together we will find one. Thanks to you kind folks for the help up to now.
I would try just working the switch a little bit and see if it has an impact. If you have an A6 and your fob with you and it doesn't work, I'd say that it may be broken. There is nothing more to it than that. The switch is simply a pressure pad like the door handle and it should be working. I know for the 2005-2008 it did not require the parking brake to be set for Autos but perhaps that changed. Otherwise I'd consider a trip to the dealer for a replacement.

There is - One in the cockpit as you mentioned, one on the fob and one on the fascia above the licence plate, beside the key lock. You have to have the fob handy for it to open with the button in the back.
