It's well worth the price. Just be sure you don't wear big, wide shoes!

OBTW, John, if you want to try the wide pedal, just give me a shout.
What if you don't have a choice on wearing big, wide shoes? I have been told that I can stomp out forest fires (if asked) with my EEE width shoes.
Is there a doctor in the house who can shave my EEE wide feet down to E?
Brings back memories from August. The new building looks great, amazing how quickly they can build it.
Cold tires eh, we were told we were lucky since it only got to 107 during school hours.
With money and "permission" I'd be back there again and again.
I think, and I've told them, they need something between level 1 and 2. Maybe a refresher for those who took 1 and aren't quite ready for 2. I would think the first 1 1/2 days of level 1 might be less interesting to do again but I, personally, am not sure I'm quite ready for level 2 although I'm sure it would be a blast and I could handle it.
Oh, dear - remember you asking me what I wanted from Santa - I have a great idea!
nice post and thanks for sharing, I was looking for people who have went and wanted to ask questions.
About how many minutes total you get to spend in actually driving the car?
the price also included insurance but I think it's covered up to 3k, what happens after that and what else does the insurance cover, actually was it pretty intense or maybe pretty mild lessons, probably won't get into accidents unless you totally not pay attention or something?
How big is the class size? and how many days ahead did you have to book the class?
there is also that 1 Day Schools- Performance Highlights - $950.00
(A condensed version of our Level 1 3-day program with less track time), how is this lesson would you recommend this one?
also I am in Ontario, CA anyone know if there are some similar schools like that around here? its' a 4 hours drive to spring mountain but from the sounds of it it's well worth it, thanks!
How many minutes - you are in the car driving most of the day. There is a classroom session (10 minutes if I remember) at the beginning and then after lunch. The rest of the time you are on the track or doing exercises. You may be waiting "in line" during the braking or other exercises but not for long. You will be very happy with the amount of track time.
Insurance - the 3K is for the Z51 and 5K for the Z06 limits. It is for damage due to accidents (hitting something, going off the track and doing damage, etc.). If the car breaks mechanically you don't pay.
My class had 16 people in it which was a great size. The track was never crowded and you never really waited for anything. On the last day when you are on your own on the track and passing is allowed I never felt held up or pushed due to the size of the track. It is great having that size group because there are plenty of people who probably drive at "your" speed. There are fast drivers and slower ones (no one is slow by day 3).
I can't imagine only doing 1 day. I could imagine doing 5 days but after getting the taste you won't want to stop. Plus it isn't close to where you are so after traveling that far.
I would recommend this school to everyone (and have). The only people that I can remember on this forum complaining were those who were already racing and probably beyond this class. The staff is great, the track and other facilities are great, the program is great and I don't need to tell you about the cars.

Here's a chance to get you feet wet without putting out a lot of money.
"Corvette Track Days" is coming in February to Spring Mountain. You use your own car and they offer different levels of driving experience. Cost is a reasonable $300.00 for the weekend.
hey guys I never owned a rwd car before, I had a 411hp awd 3000gt vr4 but it's awd, do you guys think I should get the z06 first, drive it around get to know the car first, like how to turn and don't spin out, then take the driving school, so I can get the most out of the school? or it doesn't really matter that much?

I don't think it would matter one way or another. I thought you already had a Vette, that's why I suggested Corvette Days in Feb. So I take it, you want to use there cars and take a two or three day class. Is that correct?
Which in my opinion, is a great way to learn how to drive your Z.
If you're used to all wheel drive turbo, my advice is go to Spring Mountain for the 3 day course right away. You will find the handling characteristics so different, for your own safety, just do it.
The Z06 is awesome and demands skill and respect to get the most from it.
You can't do better than Spring Mountain!

Sounds good!
When you do get the Vette. post up in the So Cal regional section and introduce yourself. The CF members in Southern Cal are very active and we have a lot of fun together. Looking forward to meeting you and checking out your Z.
you are in CT and you went to NV just for the driving school?
for the 3 days lessons do they have any discount like AAA discount or lesson/hotel packages or anything?
Yup, Also during the summer when I went, there were also specials (lower prices, hotel). From CT, going to Vegas (airfare wise) maybe no more expensive or even less that places even close. Thank goodness for SW air.
