I cant decide between 2 cars. I was all set to go on an 05 coupe and turn out the 1 inch in the steering wheel makes the difference between being able to fit in the car and not. so i need at least an 06.
i have it down to 2 cars and i cant figure out which one.
1 is black with every option, hud,z51, the whatever 3 options group, power steering wheel, polished wheels, nav on star, xm, everything. and the car is CERTIFIED so i get the 6 year 100k mile warranty, i probably wont keep it past the 36 though, i turn cars fast. car has a scratch in rear 1/4 pannel and couple small rock chips car
2 is a silver coupe no options at all. nada nothing stock as they come. needs a door panel, and the dealer will replace, it has a gash all the way thru it that was repaired poorly. squeeky belt noise, but its got a warranty.
both cars have 19k on them.
the black car with all the options is 38800
the silver car with no options is 35800.
so do i save 3 k or is all the options and the certified warranty worth it.
i love the silver look, black aint bad either, just a pain to keep clean.
if i get the silver, i save 3 k and have more mod money. what to do??
you will come to really like the 3LT options, and the resale will be much higher. since you said that you would only keep the car for a definite time (not a lifelong partner) you will probably get a large percentage of the current price spread back when you sell it
I love Black cars and think that is the only color Vettes should come in. Yes I am biased.
Now onto your question, NEITHER, both have flaws which will bother you later. Wait till you find a better deal, on a pristine car with less miles. There are a lot of Vettes out there and you will find a very nice and optioned out one for less then what that dealer was asking.
Don't be in a rush to buy if you are you will be at the mercy of the dealer. Now if that dealer brought the price on that Black one down to around $35K with the warranty then use some of that $3K saved to repair the paint damage.

Good luck on your decision.
its not really paint damage, small scratch and half a dozen pinhead rock nicks, i know the dealer has 8k in the car, the used car manager has been driving it since they took it in and he isnt to happy about selling it, aparently he loves it. but i am not 100% on the deal though
A scratch and rock chips unless it can be buffed out is paint damage. On black rock chips stand out along with that scratch. How is it that the dealer is $8K into the car?
If you are not 100% sure on the car, pass and search for one that you are 100% satisfied with. I would even say look at the 2007 Vettes which are old stock for dealers as the new 2008 are arriving.
Personaly, I wouldn't buy either. I'd find a new '07 that's equipped EXACTLY the way I want it (colors and options). Beginning in just a few days, there will be $2000 rebates on new '07 coupes (in addition to huge dealer discounts).

Neither sounds very good to me. I would advise you to keep looking. There are lots of really clean low mileage Corvettes out there so just keep looking until you find EXACTLY what you want.

But between the two,
the black car with all the options
I say get the
silver one. I have had both, 2 blacks
1, silver, 1 Atomic orange. I WILL NEVER
OWN A BLACK car again. It will drive you crazy
keeping it clean; everytime you touch it
another swirl mark appears from no where.
The silver one will look new forever.
I will say that my black ones looked great
in the garage, nothing better. Take it out
and spend hours dusting, washing or waxing
upon return.
I guess it depends on how much time you have on
your hands. Tough decision, keep us posted on
your decision. The AO is like the silver: painless.
