I found a new 2008 1lt coupe for 41,350. I am wondering if 35K is a good number for a trade? That is the figure I come up with from NADA. Mine is an 05 coupe 2lt, mn6 with 8000 miles in perfect condition with Corsa Extremes. Should I try to get them down a little on their asking price or take this deal if they accept it?

Very fair price for your car in my opinion. If the '08 is what you want, take the deal. You could likely do a little better on the '08 depending on options but it will likely affect your trade.

$35k on trade for a 05 coupe? Take it, run, dont look back.
I would *guess* they will offer closer to 28k-30k for your trade. The online sources are almost always high on trade in prices... at least in my experience.
Unfortunately, I don't expect you'll get $35K for your '05. Basically, one can buy an '08 like the one you're interested in for, like you, $41K+. Last week, the Manheim car auction prices for 06-07 vettes were $34k-$35K. Also, I was interested in trading up to an '08 so I investigated a trade as well. I was offered $34K on my '06 C6A6 w/12K miles on trade by 2 different C hevy dealers. I think private sale won't be but $2K-$3K more, if lucky. Ironically, a Porsche dealer offered me $36.2K for my Vette if I bought a Carrrera. I'm still driving my '06. Good luck.
I traded in an '05 2LT (1SA?) on a new '07, not '08 which the dealer had at 45,900 (after discounts and rebates) and I took 33,900 for mine (6 sp manual, glass roof and grey wheels).....am very happy with loaded '07 (all options except NAV)
I just traded in a 05 coupe z51 with 14k miles on it for $34k. That was a good deal because 2 other dealers offered me 31k-33k. The mercedes dealer offered me 36.5K though. I would take the deal. Good luck

NADA is always high. Most dealer use Black Book. As far as always selling out right... Consider all the options and the tax difference of the trade. Because of the vehicles I have owned in the past few years trade has worked to my advantage each time.
I do hope you get 35K we need the values to stay as high as possible.
You may get a trade in allowance of $35K,but in reality they are probably ony allowing $30k for your car and deducting $5k of MSRP of theirs.I traded my 05 in on my 08 in Sept and got $38.5K on trade in but the dealer came right out and told me my car was only worth $33.5K and the other $5K was coming off sticker. Then I followed the car when they sold it to a wholesaler for $33,500 and he took it to auction and got $35,000 for it to another dealer which I believe was getting it for himself as his lot only has sub $10k cars on it.Have not talked to him yet.

If you see anything close to 35 for an 05 2LT,kiss the salesman and drive off with the new car asap!ALAS,I fear you will not see close to 35 for a 2lt!
