The 1st ever vette Im looking to get would have base suspesion, is that ok? Im not looking to race or track, just pleasure driving. Is the base susp comfortable? Any replies will be appreciated.
The base suspension is very comfortable.I added Z51 sway bars, Pfadt swaybar bushings, and Koni FSD shocks. The car is even more comfortable now, and the handling is fantastic.
So you can always improve it.
Good luck in your search. You should have no problems with the base suspension. For what it is, it is quite capable and just fine on the comfort scale.

I did the same only with Bilsteins... It's about perfect now!

Can you add the Z51 swaybars to the F55 and will it improve anything? Sounds like a fairly inexpensive mod.
My first Vette is an '05 with the base suspension, and it is perfect for me ( I don't track it). It is more comfortable than my '08 Accord... Probably because the suspension is so much tighter than the Accord.
Mine's a base suspension model, and I have no complaints. It's hard to believe how well it actually does handle and ride, considering how low it sits to the ground.
Base is great, and if you feel the need, the mods to bring it up to a Z51 feel will cost about 300-500$ for the sways, and shocks, but definitely drive it first. You will likely be happy with the base anyway. I have the F55 FWIW
I've had both the base suspension (05 coupe) and the F55 suspension (06 coupe). We have pretty good roads most places where I drive and there's very little difference between base suspension and tour mode with the F55 on those roads.
I can tell a little difference on bad roads, but not much. The base suspension was a very comfortable ride. The main reason I now have the F55 suspension is that was on the car that I bought off the dealer's lot.
Base suspension on my 2001 coupe was just fine ---but--- sometimes I about got killed by road intrusions (pot holes, bridge edges, etc). Now have the F55 on my 05 and it takes the back breaking edges out of all those pot holes. I love it but if your roads are OK, you don't really need the F55.

we have some very crappy roads around here so I went with the F55. However the base suspension is just fine also....
