Trivia question

OK die hards, on the checkered flag side of the C6 emblem are the checkers silver and black or white and black?

I am painting the hood pad and it occurred to me I didn't know for sure. I see silver more than white, but I have seen both. Clues?

It is patterned after the checkered flags seen at most races, and that flag is Black and White.

That was my first impression of course, but why do we see so many emblems painted silver and black? Curious.

I believe it's Black & White. But, it does look like silver.

We all know the checked flag is black and white but the emblems on my C6 are black and chrome or brushed aluminum. GM elected to take the cheap route and not paint the white portion.

Every one of them on the car are black and silver.
