Would like to remove my e-brake button to paint it. How does it come off? I tried pulling and that didn't work, but I didn't want to break it either.
So am I not pulling hard enough?

You need to remove the handle to get at the button. There is a screw at the base of the handle. Once that is removed, while seated in the drivers seat you need to grasp the handle with your right hand and pull upward and outward (towards the passenger dashboard) quite firmly. The button is on a detent and the force of the handle sliding foward will cause it to pop off but it takes a bit of force.
I forgot to mention that you will need to slip the boot off the base of the handle to reveal the screw. It is simply a philips head screw.
