Default NCM Delivery information

First of all, thanks goes out to all CF members who replied to my last thread regarding pricing Corvettes. I fired my Auto Adviser and decided to go with a CF sponsored dealer. Thanks Dave.

All that have had NCM deliveries, I have read that you fly into Nashville, but nothing after that. How do you get up to BG and who sets it up? I am getting ready to sign my PO and was thinking of adding NCM delivery.

Thanks

I understand that Enterprise at the Nashville airport offers a 1-way rental, and they will pick up your rental from the Museum. Apparently, it happens often enough to be a 'standard package.'

Add it -- you will love it.

Fly to Nashville. Rent a car, I believe it is Enterprise that the museum has a one-way deal with; but call the museum and ask for Lori or Gary to find out for sure.

Yes, it is Enterprise that has a package for this at the Nashville airport. I believe that you need to call the location directly to get this deal. They will rent you a GM product for the ride up to BG. You leave the keys with your tour guide and Enterprise will pick up the car. My recollection is that the cost is about $80. If you need an extra day on the car it is about $25-30 depending on the class of car you rent. The Enterprise counter is only open until 10PM so make sure you arrive before that time.

Fly into Nashville and rent a car from Enterprise. Call in advance and reserve the car and mention you want the one-way Corvette Museum rental. It will run around $100. Money well spent. When you're ready to leave the museum in your new ride the last thing you want to do is screw around with the rental car. Just give the keys to your tour guide and you are done.

The Hampton Inn in Bowling Green is a great place to stay. It was around $85 for the night. Mention you are doing the Corvette Museum delivery and they will give you this special rate. They treated us like royalty.

You can also get a great meal at the Montana Grill, just a couple of miles down from the Hampton Inn. Great food and lots of beer!

Strongly consider doing the museum delivery...it's worth every penny. My wife and I made a vacation of it and spent a couple of weeks visiting friends and driving back to California. It was an experience of a lifetime.

DO add Museum Delivery, R8C; you will never regret it.

Yes, you fly to Nashville, go to the airport counter for Enterprise and it's about 120 for one way rental. And, yes, you drop the keys at the front desk of the Museum with the car out in a parking space.

Yes, you have to directly contact the airport location of Enterprise; NOT their toll free number, and ASK for the NCM rate.

And NO, you will NOT necessarily get a GM product; it would be nice, but isn't mandatory. I did not get a GM because they were out in August on the day I arrived.

You make the arrangements with Lori, Karen or Gary at the Museum. You don't have to do it right away and typically, everyone waits until they at least have a TPW, Target Production Week.

Just pick up the phone and call the Museum, tell them you're thinking of R8C and they'll tell you more about it. Your car will be put together in that "production week" and you will be able to pick it up at the Museum within 10-14 days therafter, as scheduled by you and the Museum, mutually.

Have fun, don't leave home and get a Vette without this!

PS Ck a search for hotels nearby. I used the Country Hearth across the street, but others have used Super 8, Hampton, et al.

Yea, do the Museum Delivery. It's not that expensive and it's
really an experience. We rented via Avis and drove from
Georgia to the Hampton Inn in Bowling Green. Next morning,
we dropped off the car at the Avis place (just down 231 a
short way) and Gary stopped by to pick us up. The Museum
folks are the very best! They can hang on to your luggage
until you are ready to drive off in your new corvette.

The plant tour, museum tour, "paperwork", and car introduction
take a good long time so get plenty of rest and take a couple
of powerbars to snack on along the way. We drove back home
that day (9 hour drive) and we were smiling the whole way.

Be sure to have someone "on call" (family member, secretary,
or whoever) at a computer with an internet connection so you
can have them save screen shots of you taking delivery on the
webcam; great stuff for the scrapbook.

Plus, don't worry about anything. The museum folks take care
of everything.

And remember, when leaving the museum: NO BURNOUTS!

I and a lady-friend of mine did the Museum Delivery last year on my '07. The Enterprise one-way special is a fact and easily worth it. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriot. Great people in the whole community, great places to eat and the tour was fantastic. We too, drove it all the way back here to S. Calif. visiting friends along the way. A trip that will live on for us, for many years to come.

Gary (museum delivery manager) will provide you the name of the person to contact at Enterprise. A call to that person sets you up with a car to drive up to Bowling Green (a little less than an hour ride). Once you get to the museum your guide will take the keys and make arrangements for the car to get back to Enterprise. It's really an easy process.

The Museum Delivery is well worth doing. I'm already looking forward to a C7 delivery. Good luck with your new Vette.
