I am wanting to remove the piece of plastic covering the hud hole on the dash,so before tackling and possibly breaking something i thought someone must have done this.If so could you please give me any info so i don't screw anything up.
Thanks in advance.
Bob
p.s.Happy thanksgiving everyone
I'm not familiar with the 1LT or 2LT HUD blanking plate set-up on the C6.
If it is indeed just a snap in blanking plate, that would make it easier to retrofit HUD than on a C5.
I seem to recall reading about a C5 HUD retrofit quite a while back, where one has to remove the entire dash pad, and then physically cut the foam out and insert a plastic surround frame (beauty) piece. Seems like the foam was notched on the backside so it was pretty straightforward where to cut, but probably a little stressful regardless.
Avery legitimate question guys. It's just i can't stand the look of that piece of plastic in the dash.It does not fit well or follow the contour of the dash.I wish G.M. had made dashes for the non hud vehicles without the hole.I am going to experiment with the piece to make it look a little more attractive. My car is an lmb so maybe i'll paint the piece to match and add a z51 emblem, vette emblem or something along those lines,i'm really not sure.Maybe you guy's have some ideas?.

Whatever emblem you add to it will more than likely only annoy you when you're driving and see the reflection during the day.
