First Year C6
I have not been on this forum much, so pardon me if this has been previously discussed.
Is anyone concerned the first year C6 will be buggy enough to force you to wait until the second year to buy? Generally, this is the way I feel now, but I know when they start rolling out of BG it will be hard to wait.
So, what are your plans?

Re: First Year C6 (ohsix)
Yeah, first year will be a crap shoot, but it will be an extra car for me and I won't mind to have it in the shop being repaired on GM's dime. :)

Re: First Year C6 (jay1970)
Hi Colonel... It's been discussed a couple times. The consensus is split 50-50; some will buy as soon as it becomes available, some will wait a year to let GM work out the bugs.
I'm sticking with my "old" Grand Sport - but I am curious to see where it's going.

Re: First Year C6 (2000^C5)
I waited three years before I bought a 99 Vette just to let the GM boys iron out the bugs, I liked the C-5 so much that in 2001 I bought another so I'll do the same with the new C-6. I'll also monitor Corvette Forum and see what kinds of problems the new cars have.

I have no plans to get rid of my C5. I love it! I'll probably trade up in 5-6 years though. (provided I like the styling on the C6 and can afford it)

Re: First Year C6 (ohsix)
From what I have read the 97 C5 isn't a bad car. There were a few initial problems that got sorted out under warranty but the 97's out on the street today all seem to be doing just fine. I think there will be many carry over parts from the C5 that the C6 shouldn't have any major teething pains. The drive train, structure, body panels and interior stuff will be as good as any C5. My guess is any new electronics may be the only area that would/could cause initial problems. I have read that the interior will be considerably upgraded and attention to detail, fit/finish and materials are planned for the C6. All in all if I had the $$$ I'd buy a first year C6.

the 97 c-5 is a good car no major problems....even after a total plant revamp & total redesign ..... there will probably be some "bugs" but i dont think anything major will occur ( at least i hope not) but my question is ......will there be a vert the 1st year??????
