Are the '08's headlight lens's plastic? If so, does anyone have any recomendations on a polish/protectorant? I'm sure they take a beating from road grit, but I would hate to put something on them that would m yellow or cloud up.

The lenses are a Lexan hardcoated polycarbonate. They actualy hold up pretty well to exposure. There are some adhesive laminate covers available but the installation is critical. An incorrect install can contribute to crazing ( spider web cracks) and a material that is too thick will trap heat. Look at a 3M type material sold where invisible bras are installed.

3M Paint protection film.. It will show a line on your hood and fenders if you look REALLY REALLY close. But it is without question the best of the best.

The dealers/factory reps in arizona will not warranty the lens in any way shape or form if ANY LAMINATE 3M / Avery anything on the lens, actually the dealer has been told by factory rep tell them to submit a glass claim under auto insurance.
I like Plexus. All Motorcycle dealers sell it. Was developed for fighter jet canopys. Non abrasive cleaner/protectant. Works great on both sides of the transparent top too. You can actually use it instead of wax on the whole car, it protects clear coats. Try it, you won't be dissapointed.
Be careful with the Aeroshell plexicoat. It contains a mild abrasive.
I have had good luck with Rejex keeping the lenses clean.
I don't feel any abrasive at all but it must have some as it eliminates surface scratches. Stuff works great and Boeing uses it too. It has the consistancy of REJEX approximately.

No polish. None at all. It will remove the protective coating, which is very thin. The coating is there to block UV light, which will cause the polycarbonate to degrade and turn yellow.
They chip very easily. I had the 3M film put on mine when I had the clear bra put on my front bumper. It's been on there for almost a year so far without any problems.
