Default Padded Armrests?

I have the DSVettes padded console and I love it. Does anyone do the same padding for the doors? I'd like to have my left arm as comfortable as my right and I'd even let the passenger get a cushioned right elbow too. Anyone do this type of work?

I know I've seen padded leather "pads" that stick to the armrest area on the door but I don't know who made them. I'd like to have one as well.

Elmer,

A couple of choices. Gerardo at Down South Vettes will do it. I've seen him discuss it with people before. A second alternative is Vette Essentials, they make an addon arm door pad for the C5 and I suspect it wouldn't be that hard to adapt the approach for the C6. They don't list it on their site so it may end up being a custom. In either case, as an example, the 4LT interior actually has such an arm pad standard. Here is a photo of it. You could use that as an example for either of the vendors.

That's what I'm after. I messaged Gerardo and I'll do the same to Vette Essentials and see if either of them have this item available.

Thanks.

I should be getting my padded console from Down South Vettes any day now. I Guess now I'll have to get these too if they have them.

I got a set two years ago from Matt at Vette Esentials.. Ordered them at Carlisle and got them in a few weeks. Think I paid $100 for the pair. They were not as nice as the 08 ones in that they did not have any stiching which I like. Just stick on the doors with double sided tape.

Hi,

Spoke to the C6 interior engineer at Carlisle, said yoe can order the OEM door armrests from GM (4LT). They are applied with pins. So unless you want to drill on door armrests, not sure if you want to do that. But I think you saw off those pins and apply it with good 2-sided adhesive. Just did not have the time to research it more. But those armreat pads are definately sold separately. Hope this helps....

Pins smins. I'll drill to make the installation permanent. Glue is a good support but not a solid anchor.

Vette Essentials replied with this:
The C6 armrest that we currently have in porduction is in the attached picture. It would be a solid color, but without the seam like the armrest in the picture from the thread.

Let me know what you think.

Matt
Here's a link to his product. It is a 1.3 meg JPG. I left it large so you can see the detail of the product. Since we have to pay to attach files on this forum, I will host the picture on my LS2.com server.

I'm still awaiting a response from Gerardo and Gene.

The last information that I had from Gene was that he could not order the arm rest separate from the 4LT door panel. I hope that this is changed.

See this thread and Gene's last post at the bottom.

Nope, Gene confirmed again that the 4lt pads are a part of the full door panel.

We either buy the complete door panel or use the after market sources.

Still waiting on Gerardo.

Elmer...

If you haven't tried calling Gerardo you may want to do that. My experience with him and e-mail is pretty spotty.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Default Armrests - Can we get them?

I'd be interested in getting a set of these also. I have the fancy console cover from DSV and it is a big improvement over the 'hard' stock console cover. Padded armrests would be a welcome (and easy) improvement.
