Collecting/Requesting New Car Documentation
Order request, transit documents, new car inspection checklist, etc? I know with a GMC truck I bought a few years back they let me keep the GM MSO (Manufactures Statement of Origin)-----looks like a title.
Does anyone know just how much of this we can request or get---or how to go about it? Probably depends on how cool/clued in the dealer is.
Neat to have I guess-----plus having all this stuff with the car should increase it's value when I run it through Barrett Jackson in 40 years.

Most people do not ever see the MSO for several reasons.
1. There is a loan involved.
2. You paid cash but the selling dealer is handeling the title, plate, and registration for you. The dealer sends in the MSO to the State for you so you can get the "new car" title most people see and get.
I got my first MSO when I purchased a car from a out of state dealer years ago. I paid for the car, got a temp plate and the MSO. I had to take the MSO to the State when I registered the car and got regular plates. You do not get to keep the MSO, you have to sign it and send it in for your new title. It gets transfered like any other title. The title you get back is what 99% of the people see after buying a new car.
I allways copy the MSO before sending it in if get one from buying a car from out of state. I also ask the dealer to make a copy of it if they are handeling the plate, and title transfer. Most dealers will make a copy for you before sending it in. Some will not for some reason? The last 2 cars I bought were from out of state dealers so I got them after paying the dealer at delivery.
Not too sure about any increases in value anytime in the near future? Not with the fire sale pricing they are giving on new Vettes right now?
Everything is slow due to a uncertain economy.
Great time to buy though! Just ordered one.
The Corvette Museum has documents that can be ordered like factory build sheets.
