Anyone install NPP mufflers on a C6 and just have the flapper valve open all the time? What does it sound like (idle, cruise, etc.)? Is it as loud as a Borla Stinger? Any drone?

I leave mine open all the time, it sounds quite boring with the flaps closed. I now know I'll never be able to go back to a standard exhaust again! It does tend to drone on the highway though, so when I take it on a road trip next Spring I'll probably have to close them - a huge advantage to the NPP exhaust.
I'm kind of a newbie to performance exhaust systems, so can anyone tell me if a dual mode exhaust like the NPP is a new concept, or has it been done before? I think its a great idea.

in terms of the actual placement of the flapper valves (ie: downstream of the muffler), it's fairly new, but there have been a handful of other sports cars with RPM or vacuum-actuated exhaust bypasses (I Believe the Zonda does it and one or another fairly new ferrari).
The actual concept is not new. Adding manual ,and more recently, electric cutouts to an exhaust system is an old standby in the world of hotrodding.
For an unmodified production car though, it's been done....but not often...
