Anyone experience the problem of the hatch hitting the center rear of the roof when lifted? The car is 2006 coupe. On occasion when lifted the hatch will just barely touch the roof enough to scrub the paint in the center about one inch wide. Still under warranty, but would appreciate any advice before the dealer gets into the problem and potentially makes it worse! Thanks.
No, stock roof, no changes. It is the fixed portion at the rear of the top, not the removable roof panel, that is the contact area. The car has about 25 HPDE track days, but I don't see how that would affect the hatch alignment.
Thanx guys; going to dealer Tuesday; will post result when "fixed" ??!!
Dealer says the weather stripping needs replacement, slight alignment and paint touch-up at point of contact. The problem is rare, but not unprecedented. Watch your clearance when you open the hatch, especially if you are still in warranty!
Thanks for recommendation to fix the roof by getting a fixed roof (Z06) and that I have a screw loose, or was it loose screw?
