I am thinking of purchasing a used C6 vert. My color choice is Sunset Orange. My questions is opinions regarding the different color thru the model years like the tint coat etc. Were I am located I cannot just go look & see. All comments welcome - Tx
Just a quick update, I just purchased the 06 DSOM Vert mentioned here.
Thanks again for your comments....made my thought process easier.
Now I just have to wait untill the car arrives from Florida.
One prob, Daytona Sunset Orange is no longer available. You can choose Atomic Orange now instead, my best huntch is too take a trip to a local dealer that stocks numerous Vettes or perhaps Bowling green itself!
The DSOM Vert is one of the more rare combinations built during 05&06 especially with the Cashmere top and interior. Then if you want auto it gets even more rare. My brother has been trying to find one but they are gone before he can call.
Good luck, thery're not only rare but a color that really grows on you.
I just purchased a 05 OS and really like it. Highly recommeded. If you see the SO next to an Atomic Orange, the SO is a brown orange(burnt orange) compared to the Atomic Orange which has more yellow in it.
Absolutely love my 06 DSOM. Like others have said...I get more compliments on the color than on the car. Good luck in your search...it may be hard to find, but it's worth the work IMHO!
Thank you for the response, the car is found. Just not sure on the colors....your comments helped. Now I just have to think about the 08 power increase & the steering changes Vs the 06 color. I like the idea of the rare color option as long as it does not become dated.
Tx again-
The DSOM is a great color...orange-ish in day light trending to reddish in night. After 2+ years I still get compliments a couple times each week. What a car! What a country!
Just yesterday I was at the grocery store (parked a mile away to avoid door hits) and a gorgeous women asked me...
"Wow...whats that color called"......yea her husband was with her!!!
I wanted to offer her a ride......(In the car!)
The "oranges" look great now but how will they look when they are
no longer the "it" color. Just think about the teal fad of the
early 90's as a case in point.

I like that: "rare." I love mine: 2006 vert, A6, beige top, cashmere int., F55, 3LT. The weird thing about DSOM is the way the color "changes" depending on the sun. It's especially gorgeous with early morning or late afternoon sunlight.
