2008 shift knob different?

2008 shift **** different?
I bought a 2008 shift ****, to replace my 2007 ****, but it will not fit on the 2007 shift stalk. It sits too high....and I can not put the bolt in. I do have a B&M shifter but the 2007 **** fit fine. Any thoughts?

The bolt hole on the 2008 is further up the plastic **** shaft vs. the 2007 ****. The flare on the B&M metal shaft hits the bottom of the shift **** before the bolt hole lines up. Anyone know of a fix besides a file...

Did you get the chrome ring that goes on the bottom of the 08 shifter ****, I understand they are not available. Would look strange without the ring I would think, as it has the grooved locking shaft.

Yes, I have the chrome ring and it looks nice with the 2008 console. I will try to drill it out. I had hoped someone else had already figured something out but I guess I am one of the first to try the switch.
