If this is the six disk CD player for the NAV I've had to replace several of them. The quality must not be the best.
just happened to me 2 weeks ago with non-NAV unit, a MP3 CD stopped playing and then refused to be ejected, and could not switch to other CD nor take any out. Also got CD MECH ERROR. Did not find anything on this forum other than somebody's wife was really good at pressing buttons and she was able to get a stuck CD out of somebody's car .
tried combinations of switching CDs and ejecting attempts while was listening to XM for about a week and finally got it working and was able to remove all CDs from CD changer. My CD stuck in #2., Havent tried to put anything there yet. #1 works perfectly so far
good luck
as an option I wanted to disconnect battery fot "reinitialisation", but issue got resolved before that.

That sounds good, I think I will try pulling the fuse. It has worked great 1 thru 4 cd, then bought new 2 cd set put in 5 and 6 just quit playing on track 8.
happened again, CD #3 stuck and now it seems that nothing is happening inside CD changer - no sounds at all.
I was gonna switch to playing music from laptop anyway, but 2nd time failing CD changer is not good
My wife has a Malibu Maxx with a 6 disk in dash changer with the same problem. What's worse though in this car is that the DIC is integrated into the radio, so an aftermarket unit is not an option.
Mine did the same thing. Would not eject cd or load one. Had 5 cds in it and it just stopped playing in the middle of a song. The next day I tried ejecting a cd and it started working again. Glad I did not want them to tear my dash apart. Have not had any other problems with it.
I did have a "CD - Read Error" in my 6 CD unit. They would eject just fine but would not play... no paper labels either. Took it to Lamb Chevy in Prescott. They tried a couple of their CD's and it refused to play their Cd's and CD Read Error popped up again. They plugged in their TECH-II to our under dash port, and got the code to order a new CD/radio unit. New unit arrived a day later, they pulled the console with no issues (my carbon fiber console survied unscathed on my 08), and installed the new unit and reinstalled the console. It obviously was all covered under warranty and the dealer said that if it was out of warranty it would have cost $1200-$1600 to replace. So far, so good!
