Just what is that fine line? The one between being a d**k about the car, and just being concerned.
**** happens, it's just a car. If your wife doesn't feel the same way about it, then she shouldn't drive the car.
My wife doesn't even like my Corvette (or the fact that I'm thinking of buying a C6 to join it in the garage) - she calls it my Redneck Ferrari But she does know how I care about my cars and always treats our other cars with the same care that I do. She's driven my E55 many times without incident, although I wouldn't freak if something happened to it when she was driving. It would suck, but hey **** happens and I certainly care more about her than any material possession.
The short answer is - if you're going to hold an accident or lapse in judgement against your SO, don't let them drive your car
MY wife hates Corvettes...seems like in 1968 someone asked her to ride in one and she came back with: uncomfortable, hard to get into, smells(ugh), When we visit our vacation home where the car resides and we go someplace together we go in the rental car. Corvettes get expensive when your wife rents Cadillacs.Maybe the claybar and WD40 aren't so bad after all.
Give the girl a break, or at least rough her up a little – just kidding – she meant well. Is she a blond? Just kidding. Where are the pics? – car and GF.

Just like CorvetteForum; someone posts girlfriend wrecked their car, and the first thing we ask for are pics of the girlfriend.
I feel sorry for all of you with wife/girlfriend that wants to drive your Vette. My wife is scared as hell to get behind the wheel of my Vette and that's the way i want to keep it.

I solved my problem easily, I waited to buy my Vette until AFTER the divorce was final.
Which is why I love my wife, when I ask her, do you want to drive the vette? She responds with are you friggin nuts She knows I am **** about cars that she even gets paranoid with her own Benz since I clean and care for it.

You guys are great. I'm going to start with the "Holy cow! I can barely keep this thing on the road since I did the new exhaust!" I'll just start telling her how there's so much power, it's almost unmanageable.
The thing is a lot louder, and sounds a lot faster with the Bullets.
My wife used to occasionally take the C6 vert to work and I was nervous the entire day when she did!! I even went over to her parking garage to check on the car during one of my lunch breaks!!
I finally solved this problem- Bought her a BMW 5-series that she absolutely loves, which has bluetooth, nav, etc., now she doesn't even care to drive the Vette!!
Of course now I have a Z and she can't drive a manual gearbox, so I have nothing to worry about now anyways!!
clay bar should fix it, but I have the perfect cure for wife driving the vette.
She loved driving it when it was stock, but now that its supercharged she is scared of it, and also scared it might break down on her. Same thing happened when I supercharged my 350z, her driving of them just stopped.
I've found Scratch-X is also good at removing transferred paint. I used it to remove some red paint from a bronze metallic minivan bumper.
I second Scratch-X.
I removed a 4" wide by 6" long strip of BLACK paint from my WHITE C4 bumper - no way you could tell it had been rubbed against a black pick up truck bumper when done. Took, maybe, 20 minutes. Great stuff Scratch-X.

It took a loud exhaust to get my wife out of my first camaro. She drove it with headers, 4000 stall and loping cam. I asked her how it drove and she said no different than before. After the cutout, she said it's too loud.
My wife keeps asking me when I am going to let her drive the new vette. I was tempted to let her for second once, but the second is past. She always tells me "but I know how to drive a stick!, I drove one 20 years ago, once"
