I have the z51, but I don't track and im just looking for the best value tire - trying to be economical. Is there a $200 out there that will still grip 1/2 decent? I only need fronts right now.
Must be runflat.
any experiences with the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval RFT?
I know there's been a ton of these tire threads, but i also thought that maybe some new tires have gone on the market...

After reviewing several threads on this subject I bought the Firestone Wide Ovals based on the cost $199 each, they are runflats; and the consensus from other owners the FWO are a decent tire.
Put the Firehawks on last week. THe first time I took off, the tires slipped pretty bad. It was cold out and the streets were a little damp. This was also the first time the tires touched pavement.
Second time out the tires grabbed fine. They ride better than the GY F1's. Only time will tell, but so far I'm happy.
In the $200 tires, before the widebody I had Avon Tech M500 all seasons from tire rack. They gripped much much better than the supercar tires, had a great wear rating, and were about 800 delivered. I highly recommend them for daily driving, even with a little twisties thrown in.
NO Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZP for C6 (sized for C5 only)
I don't think they make the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZP for the C6. I had them on my C5 and they were great tires, but they don't come in C6 tire sizes (at least from tire rack and the Michelin website):
245/40 18
285/35 19
Believe me - I'll be happy to be wrong about this if someone knows otherwise.
I ran all last season, April-November, on a new set of Firestone WO and was very impressed. I do not track the car but it is a dd and I love the twisties and occasionally do some hard cornering, 1.06G to be exact, and they have performed excellent. IMO they are a great buy.

very nice price on these - $130 each. but they are not runflats and not too please with the treadwear rating that tirerack gave.

just ordered my second set of Toyo T1R tires from onlinetires.com. These are the best tires i've ever had. They look and perform amazingly. This is Toyo's top of the line tire. I paid $884 shipped. Can't beat it.
