I just got off the phone with a XM rep and it took alot of grinding to finally get her to give me the $77.00 plan. She also informed me that next year they will not automatically bill my credit card, as they did last year for the $142.00, because this special $77.00 rate will not be renewed. I thanked her and hope to speak with another rep next year to again get the $77.00 rate. I would not have gotten this rate with all of your help. Thanks
Mine was just up for renewal.. They wanted to charge me $77 for 6 months.. told them I would consider $77 for the year... They said hold on.. and I would have to call back to another number... blah blah blah..
I told them forget it.. who needs it.. I have an MP3 player, MP3 discs and a huge collection of music that would take years to hear it all..
I already pay for cable, XM in wifes car, internet access...etc.. where does is end..
XM's not worth it to me either, even in my DD. I wouldn't even pay the $77, the sound is lousy and I just don't listen to it anyway. Seems like Sat. Radio may be in a little trouble trying to get and keep customers.
I have absolutely no interest in Satallite radio, I never listened to it with the 3 months free and didn't renew when it expired. Same with Onstar, I never renewed, I have lojack in my car. All a bunch of crooks, if ya ask me.
Had it for one year then they started the talking and COMMERCIALS. That was it, I canceled. Of course they asked why and I told them I could listen to commercial radio for FREE and hung up. Haven't missed it at all.

"When you do get the $77 deal and if you use a credit card for payment, tell XM not to keep you credit card # on file to avoid the possiblity of an automatic renewal in 12 months at a higher price. "
I requested back in May that they delete the credit card number from my account. I just got an email stating that my card was about to expire. The good news for me, is that I have a new number and even if they tried to use it, it wouldn't work. I hate them and they will never, ever get a credit card number from me again. When time comes this May to renew they will renew me for 77 dollars and send me a bill or they can KMA. Thank you, I feel much better now eddie
I just posted a message an hour or two ago about renewing my subscription this afternoon and I checked the Xm website just now and it shows that my $77.00 charge now has a $75.83 balance. What's up with that?

Me, too. They kept sending me offers to renew. The first one came at something like $9.95 per month. I told them that I would be willing to pay $1.00 per month and if they wanted me as a customer that was all I would pay.
So, now I have 6 MP3 CDs loaded in the play and I hear the music I want to hear and don't have to hope that they will play a song that I like.
I renewed at the $77 yearly rate for the second year in a row. Called up and told them to cancel my subscription. The rep asked why and I told her the standard rate is simply too high, but would renew again if she could honor the $77 rate. She agreed and I got the rate.

I just got off the phone with another rep and she explained that the reason my rate went from $77.00 to $75.83 in less than an hour was that the rep that I first spoke with gave me a credit of $1.17 because my service expired on Jan. 3, 2008. Now my renewal will be Dec. 31, 2008
