Of my four tours in Vietnam, two involved back to back Christmas seasons away from my family and in harms way ( but that was not even minutely close to what the POW's in North Vietnam went through just from a loneliness standpoint) They were the true heroes. . We did not have the communications with our loved ones such as internet and telephone, only HF MARS radio once every six months, but even with the modern communications being away from home and family over the holidays is tough for all and I and every American should be thankful for your service and the sacrifice you and your family are making. Throughout American history the loyalty, sacrifice and dedication to preserving our freedom of all in uniform has provided Americans with the the safety to celebrate the holidays in peace. We should never forget that freedom is not free nor preserved without the sacrifice of many. Thank you
