I was wondering, now that many of you have had the Firestone runflats for some time now, what is your opinion of them. Have they lived up to your expectations? How do they compare to the Goodyears? I'm close to needing a new set and I'm trying to figure out which way to go.
I have approx. 8000 mi. on mine on my 06 Coupe and they have been great. On asphalt the car is very quiet. (Concrete is another story-- for any tire). Handling wise I think they are equal to the GY's I replaced. I will say I don't think I will buy runflats on the next go around. The Firestones ride better than the GY's but still quite harsh.
You should try the firestones. They are great tires. They are quieter than the GY's. If you don't like them you can sell them for close to what you paid.

8,000 miles - how are they wearing? What % of tread is left?
We had the Firestone runflats on my wife's C5.
Quiter, more grip and better in the wet than the stock GY runflats...
Same here - put them on the wife's '98 convertible. Way better performance than the GY EMTs, however, they do "appear" to be narrower when looking from the rear than the GYs even though they're the same size. This is an illusion created by the more rounded shoulders of the Firestones where the GYs are more squared off. Other than that, you would not regret the Firestone runflats.

i know that the FS appear narrower when installed on the C5 but is it the same with the C6 since it is a different tire?
Where did you get them? Anyone order online through Tire Rack and have them delivered to a store you worked out an installation deal with ahead of time? Or, do you just take the TR pricing to them and they give that price to you and take care of ordering/getting them to their place? How about mounting nightmares such as destroying the sensors, wheel scratches, etc? How much should one expect to pay for mounting once you have them at the tire place? Do you buy new sensors ahead of time to have ready in case?
I have approx. 3000 miles and still love the Firestone Wide Ovals! I would definitely purchase these again. I got less than 15K miles on the Goodyear OEM's. I'll be interested in seeing what kind of mileage I get out of these tires.
The Firestones are very quiet, ride well, hug the road well and come at a very decent price from Tirerack! You will not regret buying the Firestones.

Can they be repaired if they take a nail, or screw in the tread? I thought that they couldn't, but I was told that they could be at Discount Tire.

Yes, as long as it isn't in the sidewall. Me, I bought mine with free life time replacement.
