I started the Vette this morning and got a low tire warning. It's been cold so I figured I was down on air pressure. While I was topping off the air I remembered reading earlier that the valve stems were sometimes not tight from the factory. Just for grins I checked mine and sure enough they were all about finger tight, maybe a bit more. I don't know if this contributes to air loss, but I have noticed that after topping off the air the last few times I would lose a pound or two during the week even during the warm weather. I tightened them down and will continue to keep an eye on the pressures.
caps have nothing to do with airloss, they are just to protect the schrader valve in the stem and for looks. Finger tight is plenty, unless you're worred about someone stealing your valve stem caps.
Mine seem to be leaky also all 4 of them. I put in 34 lbs one morning about a month ago with the outside temperature at about 40 degrees now they are reading 31 lbs. all 4 of them.

He's not talking about the caps. The tire sensor stems have a nut that holds the sensor to the wheel. Sometimes these come loose and leak air around the stem.
Might be a good time for you to check your nuts
Someone posted a while back they should only be tightened to about 5 ft lbs. That's not much - as in just snug.
...thats correct - just need to be careful and not destory the little rubber o-ring, or you'll have problems. They actually make a little torque devise used for tighting the valve-stem nut - if you are unsure - take it to your local tire shop - they'll do it for you.
