Confused

What is the difference between the repo chrome split spoke and GM split spoke chromed? Where are the GM wheels made? Is the GM wheel a better wheel? There are forum dealers buying gm silver split spokes, having them chromed and selling them for 5 hundred more than the repo's. They are buying GM silver split spokes for 5 hundrerd so are the repo's and GM wheels actually the same wheel?

The aftermarket chrome split rims are either
1. GM factory wheels chromed (take offs), or
2. Chinese repros chromed.

Ask the seller the origin of the wheels.
And you do the math....

The factory wheels are made in China. The repro wheels are made in China.

I guess I should have added that the aftermarket specs on QC may be different.

GM wheels are covered by the bumper to bumper warranty. GM wheels go through an extensive testing and validation program for reliability and endurance. GM wheels meet strict standards for lateral and radial run out and hub eccentricity. Basically, GM wheels meet the specifications determined by engineering.

Thought there was a post about the split-spoke wheels not being easy to chrome or something and may not hold up to everyday use. This is why GM decided to offer the old style in chrome and not the split-spoke design. Am I wrong? Will try to find the thread.
