I'm so dumb...

Last night I heard what sounded like the alarm on my C6. However, as I went toward the garage, the noise stopped. Naturally, I assumed that it wasn't my car after all. This morning, as I was backing my other car out of the drive, I noticed that the hatch on my Vette was open.

That's what set off the alarm. Apparently, I'd hit the hatch release button on the fob while I was getting something else out of my pocket.

Fortunately, all the electrical systems worked as advertised, and the car started up right away. No dead battery for me.

DO you have an aftermarket alarm? Hitting the hatch release on the stock system shouldn't make the alarm go off.

It doesn't go off immediately, but it will if you leave the hatch open for some time. That's also why it didn't keep sounding off, just a few seconds.

When I got my car last year I some how hit the dome light buttom and couldn't understand why it stayed on. I had to call the dealer

I was thinking the same thing, which is why I posed the question. Maybe if you lock the doors with the hatch open it will go off after some time? I left mine open for a few hours as well.......no alarm.
