DIC Static
Are you getting a static sound on your DIC? With your engine on idle turn off your radio and select any of the DIC controls and you will here a static sound every time you make a selection. Is it just me and I need to visit the delearship?

No speaker in the DIC. There should be a beep from the front left radio speaker when you press a button. The radio doesn't have to be on for this. (The radio is never really off unless you pull its fuse.)

My '08 has done it since day one. Very annoying. What I here is not a static/scratchy type sound but more of a white noise/hiss if that makes any sense.

Both mine and my brother's 07's do this. Maybe older vette owners have bad hearing 
It's normal...but dumb. Same thing goes for the stereo at low volumes - there is more hiss than sound at the two lowest volumne settings.
