2007 Indy Pace Corvette
With fantastic prices afloat I'm giving serious thought to ignoring the 2008 HP increases and go with a 2007 LS2. The Indy Pace Vert. As a 'collector'..anyone have a list of 'unique' stuff that is out there for the Indy.
As for the car itself I guess I'm looking at unique items (in case of an accident) that should be secured and stashed for later use, hopefully not..I see from another post that the unique wheel center caps are almost nonexistent. Any word on the decals for later replacement or the Indy Speed way badges on the front fenders.
Other items:
The hero card- on ebay
1/64 diecast- on ebay
1/24 Revell Promo model (plastic) - on ebay and the Museum Store
1/24 Greenlight metal diecast - on ebay and the museum store
One or two tee shirts I've spotted with the car- museum store
Other Indy specific items I've missed?

As a collector wouldn't you be putting it away and not driving it making an accident unlikely?

Nope--I collect related "stuff" for the hobby room--Vette won't make it down the hallway...so it gets driven on roads as intended.... but because of the yahoos out there--I also try to stick away 'parts critical'...in case the unfortunate happens...

This thread also covers the OTHER issue--collectibles...What is available?? --the usual stuff--shirts, diecasts, magazine articles..just wondering if anyone is collecting and what they've found so far........

Have you thoght about waiting until about this time next and get the 08 Indy pacecar. Could probabbly get a good price on one of those then and have the hp increases.

NOoooooo my taste may not be reflective of others but the 08 version is ugly beyond ugly..... And the $14,000 off MSRP offerred by Boardwalk Chev is just too good to pass up for the 07. Looked at an 08 in Atomic Orange vert today sitting 2 cars away from an 07 Pace. Nice quiet closed dealer- no one to bug me ...the difference is amazing..the Indy 500 touches sooo add to that car. Exterior and interior. Plain black seats just pop with the Indy 500 stitching in the headrest....etc

With the money that you will be saving, why dont you just buy another set of wheels and tires keeping the original ones in mint condition. The stripes and seat covers are another story unless you want to replace the seat coevers.
