Can you do a trasmission tune with a Predator, or just a engine tune ?

Only the engine tune, to do the transmission they need your car as your trans module is buried deep in your trans and not something you can just remove.

I am not sure that is true. I have a manual, so I am not sure. I would call them. The manual references auto trans, but the manual sucks.

Please do a search this was brought up in depth with Chuck COW giving the low down on the Auto Trans. The Predator will firm up line pressure and shift points but the program is limited to the PCM and not the trans module. Several other tuners are doing auto trans tuning but again you need to take your car to them or have them come to you. But the bottomline is they need your car.

Mine is manual, so I didn't care if changed anything in the trans, but it looks like you have done your homework on this.

pretty sure it won't as I believe he and anyone who tunes with HP tuners can delete tm which the predator folks have not yet figured out how to do

nope, but for a stock to very mildly modified car, I don't think any other tune is worth the dollars. Now if you are going H/C or headers etc, I would go with a tuner.

Bottom line, predator is great for stock to mildly modified car, with the benefits of being able to go back to stock for dealer work.

A pcm rewrite tune will give you more results with a modified car, but there is no going back easily.

I use the predator with a vararam and exhaust. I like it, and I like being able to reset it if needed.

Is reverting back to stock not easily accomplished with HP Tuners?

I've been considering their VCM suite but I already have a Predator and the stock backup is so easy to restore if necessary.

HMMM my son has a 2007 mustang GT with the predator...He had a local performance shop dyno tune it and set all the specs with the predator...they changed the transmission settings so it would shift harder and faster,it made a huge differance. Not sure if chevys are the same but just give there tech support a call

The very reason I picked up a Predator, however I will be going with a cam change in the near future and will need a dyno tune to get things right and the optimal hp gains.
