Default Floor Mat Help Needed

Looking for anyone that might have seen or experienced the following:

I have early 07 with post style mats. I bought a set of lloyds mats which were very nice, plush & bigger. The problem I had was the drivers mat allways bunched up because the tabs underneath the mat didn't reall keep the mat in place.

So, I recently purchased a set of Genuine GM C6 Premium Front Mats W/C6 Logo from GM Partswarehouse. They are nice, I don't think as plush & are smaller, but have the open holes for the posts. My problem with the drivers mat is it doesn't seem that the openings on the mats for the posts are large enough. The mats don'treally go down far on the posts and they seem to come off posts really easy.

Has anyone else experienced this with either of these mats or maybe have a better suggestion on a mat to use on the post setup?

Thanks

I had the exact same problem with the Lloyd mats. I did several things to keep the plastic tabs on the posts until the tabs broke.

What finally worked is I loosened the bolts up on the front seats, slipped the mats just under the seat frame, then tighened it back up. Of course you have to take the plastic cover off the bolts at the front of the seat frame. It was tight getting the plastic covers back on but they went.

My next step was going to be to go with the stratmosphere mats as It looked like they would use the post like the OEM mats.

Thanks for the input.

Do you have a link to stratmosphere?

I think you should hang out for awhile. I'm sure someone has an answer for you Lloyds.

My Lloyds started coming off the posts as well so I fixed it by taking the grommets off the factory mats, cutting round holes in my Lloyds and installing the grommets on the Lloyds...problem solved. Stratmosphere mats are essentially the same thing, they require you to reuse the grommets from your OEM mats from what I have seen.

I had the same exact problem with GM's premium accessory mats. The doughnuts simply are too big and do not snap correctly for whatever reason.

I called around but nobody could ever give me an explanation why they don't attach properly but if you look at the OEM mat retainers versus the accessory mats they're definitely different.

I finally just had to get my money back on the GM mats and went with Stratmosphere mats instead. I actually like the Strats a whole lot better. Even the cargo mat fits better and the carpet is of better quality.

Another option would be Co-Co Mats. They fit so tight that they can't move around. If you have to have plush type mats, they won't be for you, but I think they look terrific. They are easy to maintain and will look great for many years.

I also went with the coco mats...super high quality and HEAVY....they wont move around. The dont have post holes...but you just put them over the factory mats in place.....no problem. Really set off the interior....lots of color options too. I even ordered some for my Avanti....they sent me the heavy paper to make a custom pattern and made them special....perfect fit. www.cocomats.com

They are heavy and tight enough that they stay in place without any tabs. I lay mine right over the factory mats. My car is almost 15 months old and the CoCo mats look as good as the day I bought them and my factory mats are still brand new underneath them.
