I read on a earlier post the cost of the NPP mufflers. It was mentioned that the stock tips could be modified? Is that true? If so is there a adapter kit out there?

If someone made really nice looking rolled-edge 4 inch polished stainless tips that would slip over the pipes just aft of the mufflers, I would be first in line. I don't mind the sound of the stock exhaust (after having Corsa Indy's on my 98 for three years, the quiet is kind of nice!)---- but the stock tips look a little wimpy.........
That will not make them operate like the NPP however and they are much louder when open than the NPP is. The NPP also opens based on throttle position and RPM. A cutout is simply a switch in the cockpit that the driver operates.
The NPP is still routing through the muffler and is a tuned exhaust. Electric cutouts are either stock through the muffler when closed or straight pipe just before the muffler and very loud.

The NPP exhaust is much more than just the tips, it's overaxle pipes + muffers + tips + vacuum lines + electric solenoids.
The NPP tips aren't sold seperately and won't fit the stock mufflers without extensive cutting and welding. The stock mufflers have extensive internal baffling and a single path to a single (less than 2") oulet while the NPP mufflers have 2 different internal paths and 2 separate outlets. You would still need to run vacuum and power to the NPP tips.
