Have you called the special plates branch in Austin yet ? You might have better luck doing that. As with the others, I see nothing wrong with it but, we're in TX so you know how that goes.

Since I can't get it.
Thanks a bunch!
I'm betting the morality mavens in Austin got their panties in a wad and that's why it got the thumbs down. I've heard that there have been others that have not had a personalized plate renewed under the new guide lines. With the switch to allowing vanity plates to be issued by the county tax office, the state had to tighten up on what will make it through the system without a formal review in Austin. That still doesn't mean you can't get it done. It just means making the trip down there and presenting your case in person to a reviewing officer. MikeyTX
Has anyone ever seen a plate "370HSSV" before and can you figure out what it is saying. I read a couple of years ago where some guy got this by the state BMV. HINT: stand on your head and read it.
There is a certain saying that I am wanting to personalize my plates with. The person hasn't renewed since 99. The lady that was helping me said they won't issue because they are ejected! Anyone know what that means?
Thanks
As I stated in my earlier posting, I thought I'd seen the plate 2HOT4U here in California so I went to our DMV website to check for sure. I was right, that plate is 'Not available' meaning someone already has it.
Just for laughs, I also checked to other plate I once tried to get and found that 2FAST4U is now available. That wasn't case some years ago when I first checked on it.
I searched, but it says its not available. Guess I will keep trying.
I called them in Austin, and they said it is not available because it is sexists. I wrote them to appeal. Maybe they will change their mind. I doubt it tho!
You should be able to access your DMV online and search for personalized plates and you can submit your request and receive an answer in seconds.
2HOT4U should no be offensive.
Also, I am not sure about other states but in California you can retain a personalized plate if you decide to not use it on your car by paying I believe a $30.00 per year retaining fee that basically keeps someone else from using it.. I thought about retaining my old plates
(C6ULATR) as in SEE YOU LATER eventhough I ordered a different set for my 08. I ended up giving up the plates.
One negative thing I found out is that if you have a plate that states something to do with being fast such as 2FAST4U, or in my case
C6ULATR, it tends to attrack every mustang owner or whatever car who wants to race. I even had several people come up to me and say "I know what your plate means". "It means SEX YOU LATER". Needless to say that it bothered me. I overheard a couple of girls one time saying "Sex You Later, what a typical corvette owner"
