They are supposed to send you a post card on the first anniversary of your purchase. It doesn't always happen for some reason. If you don't hear from them you can contact them here:

From the 2007 Corvette Navigation System Manual:

Ordering Map DVDs

You will receive two free DVD map disc updates
with the purchase of your new vehicle. Updates
are necessary to make sure that your vehicle’s
navigation system has the most accurate
information available about streets/roads, points of
interest, and business locations.
The updates are provided by the GM Nav Disc
Center at the first and second anniversary dates of
your vehicle’s delivery date. About four to six weeks
before those anniversary dates, you will receive a
post card from the GM Nav Disc Center reminding
you that a free update is available. The center will
request confirmation of your mailing address either
by having you contact the toll-free number,
1-877-NAV-DISC (1-877-628-3472), or the center’s
website, www.gmnavdisc.com. After verifying your
address you should receive the updated disc in
about two weeks. After receiving the updated disc,
replace the old disc in the navigation system. See
“Installing the DVD Map Disc” and “Ejecting the
DVD Map Disc” under Maps on page 67. Dispose of
the old disc to avoid confusion about which disc is
the most current.
If you have any questions about the operation of
the navigation system or the update process,
call the GM Nav Disc Center or go to the center’s
website. If you need any future updates or a
replacement disc, because the current disc is lost,
damaged, or needs to be updated, call the GM
Nav Disc Center or order a new disc online.
To order a disc, have your Vehicle Identification
Number (VIN) available. This helps the center
make sure you receive the correct and most up to
date DVD map disc for your vehicle. See
“Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)” in the Index
of your vehicle’s owner manual for more
information.

Can you skip a year and get them on say the 2nd and 4th years instead of 1st and 2nd?

Nope, I asked the update center about skipping a year when I called about getting my first update and they said the free updates are only vaid for the two consecutive years after the in service date.

I never received a card for my early 2007 that was built 8/30/2006 and purchased 9/12/2006. I called the NAV center this morning and provided my VIN. I was advised that I already have the latest update available for my vehicle. (I was asked to read the part number from my disc to verify).

I only have a single disc and I advised that my understanding was 2008 models have a 2 disc set. I was assured that the most recent disc for a 2007 is the one single disc that I already have. It appears that the 2007 and 2008 must require different discs if this is true.

I was also told that an update for my vehicle should be available around September 2008.

Has anyone received an update for a 2007? If so, did it contain 2 discs?

Update 10:58 AM
I did a search on the GM NAV site and it lists part number 15852830 as the latest disc for both 2007 and 2008, however, there is no stock. I guess that 2007's will get the 2 disc update when stock is available. I am in no hurry for an update, I just did not want to loose one of my 2 updates because I did not request it.

Save The Wave,
John

You are entitled to the 2008 update, and it will work with your car. I'm not sure if that was a tactic based on the backorder status of the 2008 discs. Try this. Go to GMNavdisc.com and enter your VIN online and see what comes up. You should be given an option to select the 2008 disc.

Hi Paul, from the time of your post it appears that you were posting about the same time I did the update. It sure looks like it is an availability issue.

When I put in my VIN, the site indicated I already had the latest disc. When I did a part number search by year it listed the 2008 part number with no stock.

John

Sorry I jumped before your update John. I'd just sit tight in that case. the two disc set will work. If that is what you want, just don't order the update prior to seeing availability. They were shipping them just a couple of weeks ago so it should come around again.

I received a card in the mail in December notifying me that I was eligible for the new NAV Disk (now in a set of 2). I went to the website referenced and place my no-charge order and have been informed that they are back ordered with no date on when they will be available.
