Default wheel damage

Had my tires changed by Firestone dealer and looked a the rims when I got home. 3 rims have the same damage. Large deep scratch on one spoke about 2 in. from the wheel lip. It go almost across the whole spoke. These are polished rims. Does this sound like damage from the tire dealer or maybe the one time I took the car to the car wash? Yes I know I should have checked the wheels before taking it for tires. The Firestone runflats are a softer ride w/Z51 package

sounds like they did some damage to the wheels when they changed the tires but you should have went over the condition with the shop before the tires were changed....I woul bring it back immediately and demand they pay for the repair....keep us posted....

Sounds like it could be the car wash. I'd go back there and see if the lip on the car wash tracks lines up with your scratches, if it does not, it must have been the tire store.

Default Firestone

Took the car back to Firestone. The manager looked at my wheels and is going to repair all 4-- Sending them to Miami for repair. 4 day turn around. This means my 65 fuelie will see some road time. Please everyone should be carefull when picking a tire dealer.

Nice of the Firestone dealer to do this for you, but I would still bet on the carwash, especially if it had those guide rails that the tires go into.
Don't ever go to a Carwash

Not sure what a 'true enthusiast' is? I drive it everyday so I guess I qualify as pretty enthusiastic. How often do you drive yours? I have it hand washed at a big ol' car wash. If I looked, I bet it has swirl marks, but I never look. It's a car not a church. If you spend one minute worrying about it, it is hours lost driving it.
