I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of IForged swift wheels. Anyone have any experience with the TPMS "straps" inside the wheels? Can you bypass the TPMS?
Thanks for your wisdom.
As far as I know, you can not bypass the TPMS on the C6 like you could on the C5. It was able to be tuned out on the C5 with a Tech 2. Many have had success using a band clamp and epoxy to relocate the sensors to the hub of the wheel. It looks something like this in application.
You should be able to get a band clamp kit from Grainger supply or McMaster Carr.
There are also valve stem clamps that can be purchased to relocate the sensors. I'm sure others with specific experience will chime in.
Any good sources for a new set of sensors? I don't what to be w/o wheels while I wait for my new wheels to arrive. I will sell my original wheels & tires complete with sensors.
Thanks again,

Thanks again,
gmpartshouse.com I believe has the best prices and certainly the best service.

Spend the money on the IForged TPMS mounts ...
Not sure who sells them ... but these are better than the epoxy probably.
TheModCity has them for $75.00.
Any trouble with "matching" the sensors to my receiver in the car?
Dang! We're talking on 2 different forums, and I'd just as soon keep it all over here!!!
Yes, there can be issues with the sensors mounted inside the wheels instead of in the valve stem holes like in OE wheels.
The electronic tools used to "trigger" the sensors during the relearn or reprogramming procedure only put out a low powered signal. When the sensors are deep inside the wheel sometimes it's hard to trigger them to get them to send their data to the TPMS, especially the sensors in the rear wheels.
Also, I've talked with several owners with sensors mounted inside the wheels whose rear sensors sometimes aren't picked up when driving - usually when going fast or aggressively. Not everyone has that problem though, and it's usually just a very occassional thing where they'll get a DIC message of a sensor problem and then a couple minutes later the TPMS gets a good signal from the sensor and all is well.
I ordered the Iforged TPMS mounts with my new Iforged wheels and they work fantastic. The sensors screw through the mounts and sit right inside the wheels. They take about a minute each to screw the mount (which is also the air valve) into the wheel, and then the TPMS screws through the hole in the mount. Absolutely no problem with reception from the sensors.
Bypass ? maybe if you had no other choice. I have heard of people here keeping them in a pressurized canister in the back cubby. May have been in the C5's though, hard to imagine they could read that far.
Those other mounts posted here look great ! First I've seen of them, way better than the straps or epoxy.
