Do you have a picture of this installation in your car? Does it limit visibility much?

Okay I just got a v1 as well as vettemods mount. Before I go ahead and try and tackle this, I've read that this mount cannot be used on the drivers side. Why is that?

Yes, mount it in the garbage can and never pull it out again. You got screwed when you got that RMR because that company is a scam that makes money off of people by selling cheap non-working products.

Nothing by RMR or Rocky Mountain Radar will jam laser or radar and their radar detection sucks.

I have a 2003 Z06.

Is the pinout of the connector for the mirror the same as Bugman's 2005C6?

BTW, just wanted to say that I use the invisicord too, but another thing, was that if you want to save $35 for the mount, just go ahead and use the original suction cups and place it near the mirror. That's what I use and I'm glad I went that way and saved the money. Good thing the mount was out of stock or else I would have blew $35. If you want, PM me and I can send you a photo.

I have the great lakes mount w/invisicord on my V1.

Two things I've done to enhance it- I took a piece of 1/2" fuel line, about 1 inch wide and made a slit in it longitudinally. I then placed that piece of fuel line between the mount and the winshield to dampen vibration- the "open" part rests against the mount, and the rounded side of the fuel line rests against the winshield- keeps my V1 from bouncing when I go over bumps. Fuel line is black, and it looks good.

I still got some residual vibration on the V1, however. It would actually cause the detector to come a bit loose on the great lakes slide-in mount.

A little closed cell neoprene wedged between the top of the V1 and the bottom of the great lakes mount now has my detector mounted in such a way that it really does not vibrate or bounce around at all when my car hits bumps.

Minor improvements, but effective, and clean looking. Driver's side mount.
