Default 2005 Cigarette lighter fuse

This fuse is located underneath the passenger floor board and it calls for a 20 amp flat plastic yellow fuse. Can you get this fuse anywhere? It is a common fuse isn't it?

Make sure you buy a brand name fuse. No cheap stuff like shown below from Harbour Freight.

Do not use:

Fues did not blow ...

... but this does:

yeap!Harbor Freight sells some cheap stuff. I believe these are called J fuses. Looked at the manual and they put the print in the diagram fuse box so that you need a microscope to read it
I see there it says spare fuses but these are spaces for spare fuses as there aren't any fuses in them.

As it turns out, the red Z06 that caught fire in the picture you posted was caused by newly installed headers, not a defective fuse.

This was almost my car today. Cheap cigarette lighter fuse didnt blow and cooked my electrical system. Trying to figure out what to do now. Thank god I pulled over and took the negative off of the battery when I did. It could've been a total loss.

Holy, crap!

I have never given fuse brands a thought. I thought they were all created equal. Not something to cheap out on, evidently, and they aren't expensive anyway.

Learn something new everyday.

I spent most of last night taking the dash apart to try to get to the harness to pull it up and do some rewiring but still need help. This is my thread on my "Cheap Fuse" problem.
