Installed my Parrot evolution3000 today complete with the plug and play harness from Quick Connect.
Installation was interesting to say the least. There is so much crap that goes with this setup, that it's almost impossible to fit it all behind the Nav unit.
Once I got the dash apart, it was simple to hook up the unit, but finding space to store the harness and "black boxes" that go along with it, took some doing. I finally got everything to fit, kind of like sitting on a suitcase to get it closed.
Overall, the unit does what it says it does. I now get my cell phone through my stereo. When a call comes in, the stereo mutes.
I put the microphone on the dash by the "A" pillar and it works fine there.
Assuming you hooked this up to the factory nav unit, what happens when you make a call? Does it switch to AUX input; or just mute everything until the call is completed?
Sorry, didn't get any pics. My daughter borrowed the camera and I had to take advantage of the great weather to install the unit.
When the phone rings, the stereo mutes. You can either answer it by pushing the button on the unit or the send button on your phone(I think there is a voice command too). When the call is completed, you can either say hang up, or push the button on your phone. The stereo then goes back to normal volume. It is hooked up to my factory Nav.
The unit is capable of alot of voice commands, which I haven't gotten to yet. Does what I need it to do.
Start to finish, it took me about an hour and a half. That includes taking the dash apart. Most of the time was figuring out where to mount the boxes and how to "stuff" the wire harnesses. I used 3m tape and stuck the amplifier box on top of the computer behind the climate controls and I stuck the big blue box onto one of the A/C ducts.
Parrot makes a great piece. I have the LS3200 in my Grand Cherokee. The Quick Connect harness is a must for the install. Wouldn't want to try it without. It reminds me of the functionality of the old Cellular One hardwired car kits except the sound quality through the stereo speakers is much better.
someone else had a thread earlier today about this device from CostalTech...apparently you use it with your after market bluetooth, but it gives the capability to use your Nav unit/OnStar to complete calls through your speakers...more info http://www.coastaletech.com/ONSTAR.htm
Did you ever buy a C6 or are you ow waiting again for new goodies on the 2009 C6?
Not waiting for the 09 ... waiting for my finances to get in order for the purchase ... If I kept waiting for all of the new features I would never get a Vette ... but money is one of those things that would make me need to wait a little bit longer ... 2007 had a few expenses I did not expect.
