I'm installing the invisicord as per the instructions. The section with the green wire fits easily and snugly into the top left of the electrical connector with the black wire. However, the red wire does not seem to want to go all the way in for the second row under the pink wire. I placed the green wire above the black as per Bugman's instructions with no problem. The green wire doesn't want to go in under the pink wire. I've tried above and on the side. If I reverese the wires, the one on the top row still fits perfectly and the bottom row does not. Help!!
That one does require more wiggling and force to insert. Try using a small pair of pliers so you can push harder. Just be careful not to short anything.

Yeah...Keep wiggling and trying different spots in that hole. It'll eventually go in.
I had the exact SAME issue when trying to install my Invisicord per Bugman's instructions. It WASN'T going to go in below the pink wire without breaking something. Maybe this issue is common to later Vettes then Bugman's car - who knows...
What I did was plug the stubborn one in ABOVE the pink wire instead of below. Hold the pink wire down a bit as you start to plug in the red one. This seems to hold well there and maintain contact just fine.
Give that a shot and let us know if it worked...

Well, I finally got the wires in place. I was so excited! Start the car up... and nothing. Radar detector didn't turn on. So after a few choice explitives and switched to the regular cord to check. Sure enough, it worked. I unplugged the iviscord from the power supply, plugged it back in and still nothing. I did this probaby five more times to make sure. I was a bit agitated since I had already spent an hour on this two minute project. So I'm thinking that my invisicord is defective.
I'm trying to find the phone number of the company to call and request a replacement. I had one last thought. Maybe I should try reversing the wires. So I did and it lit right up! I checked it at least five more times. My inviscord color coded wires were the exact opposite of what their flier said that come with the unit, what the website said, and what Bugman said. WTF? I have a completely reversed invisicord. Isn't that weird? Oh well, maybe someone else has this problem.
I have a feeling that last wire is not making contact. Have you tried wiggling the wires with the power to the Detector on to see if it is just a bad connection?
Is this a recent order direct from the Invisicord site? Please provide the details of the order (email addy) to me via PM so I can look it up. If you picked this up from somebody else, then maybe it is not our product, or it is a very old one that used the wire colors, instead of the color coded heat shrink (almost 3 years ago now).
EDIT: I believe I found it (Dec. 30th?), would you be able to shoot a quick photo of the cord? In the meantime, if you would like a new one, I can send one to you.

This is exactly what I had to do with mine. I purchased my invisicord with the bracket through Vettemods. I had to reverse the wires that were given in the instructions by Bugman and everyone else. What model year is your Vette? I have an '08 and I was wondering if it was the new '08s that flipped the wires... As long as it works now, I suppose!
Please remember that the cord Bugman used in his writeup won't match yours. You should not use the actual wire color to do the installation compared to his write-up, but rather the heat shrink colors. Some cords will have the ground as green, and others will be red, but if I do my job correctly, the ground wire will always have black heat shrink and the 12v wire will have yellow. In Bugman's little installation grid, where he has green->black wire, "green" should now be "black heat shrink", and where he has red->pink wire, "red" should be "yellow heat shrink".
In this case, I am still very puzzled how black was added to both connectors. I have had special requests in the past to put all black on, but this request was not made in this order, so it certainly appears that the wrong cord was sent out.
And yes, both the Escort line and Valentine One are diode-protected from reverse voltages. Some people have gone so far as to just use the Invisicord attached to the detector as a "test light" to their mirror when locating the correct wires to use on different makes/models, but is certainly not recommended by me.
