Nope. Apparently damn near impossible to hack. Two years of serious hacking yields nada. I use my Nuvi mostly..
It pi55es me off too. But, not as bad as the 3LT Bose "Premium" sound
system.
But, as soon as I step on the gas...........I fergit all that other sheit.
There has not been any success for a software solution to allow operation of the Nav while moving. Several have been trying for a couple of years.
There is a hardware modification that Ray Kawal developed. You can find it in the thread linked above. This does work, and quite well from conversations I've had with Ray.
Here is something that may help....You can set up addresses or any place you touch on the screen as "marked points" obviously this has to be set up before being in motion. But your "marked points" list can be recalled on the screen at anytime in travel. I am still learning the Nav myself, but I think you can do something similar to this as "Waypoints". Also, the marked points can be named to anything you like..eg. "MALL" or "Work" and chose to have the name displayed on the screen or not. Also, you can place several different icons as the location. I think the point of navigating to a destination is to know where are you are going before you depart and punch in the address before you start moving.

No, you can not start from scratch and wander around in the system trying to enter a complete address or dragging maps around trying to set a new destination while you are moving. Pull off the road if that is what you have to do. On the other hand, you can set a previous destination while moving and the previous destination list saves the last 100 different destinations you set. Let's say you have 100 customers that you want to visit at random when called. You're at customer 32 and need to go to customer 76. As long as you've set up each location at least once before, you can find the shortest/quickest route there from wherever you might be while on the move.
And one thing I find handy is that to set them up initially, you can often do it by just their phone number.
You can also set emergency location routing while moving.
I know this is a little off topic but seriously how do you cancel the voice guidance? I know how to turn down the volume but how do you CANCEL? Thanks ahead of time

So you are JUST wanting to cancel the voice guidance, but not the route.

Either press the voice activation button and speak "Cancel guidance" or on the route options screen press the cance route guidance button. You can do this while moving or stopped.

I was getting to exactly was is being said by talon90, but wanted to make sure that is indeed what he wanted to do and not cancel the whole route in general.

That cancels everything. If you just want peace and quiet while still getting the map guidance and HUD displays for the selected route it is "Voice Guidance Off". "Voice Guidance On" pots her up again. "Softer" and "Louder" change the volume.
