Default Pucks?

Hi,
Has anyone ever used any what they call permanent pucks on their c6? I got them off of ebay. They attach where a service department lift comes into contact with them instead of the vehicle itself. I don't want to put them on if it's not a good idea.

Would it be ok to use 2 jacks on one side where the pucks would be to raise the car enough to change the oil? Do you think it would do any damage?
Thanks.

I have pucks mounted on my car, and I don't ever take them off. Those are the jacking points for the vehicle, so jacking up the car is safe at those points.

I have the BMW snap-in pucks and they work good. I have had no problem with jacking with 2 jacks.

The jacking points are for...uhhh...jacking the car up. As far as the need during oil changes, I use the front point on the driver's side but only need about 2 inches of lift to get under. But I wouldn't be concerned even lifting it high enough to change a tire. It's made to be lifted at that point and driving over uneven pavements can put more torsion on the frame.

With the Vette tilted, slightly, toward the passenger side, does all of the oil drain out ? My first oil change was at the dealer, but I plan to do my own, in the future, & I have the pucks, installed. -- Thanks, in advance. -- --

Thanks for the replies.

FortMorganAl, uh, I realize that, but on a lift they would all have equal pressure. Using just the sides I thought it might put too much pressure in that area. You only use the one on the drivers side (behind the wheel) to change the oil? If that's the case, cool.

Thanks again for the replies.

I raise it just enough to loosen the filter and remove the plug. Put it back down while it drains and I do the rear zerks. Raise again to reinstall the plug and change the filter. Up and down is easy when you are only doing one point a few inches. Also much easier than trying to get level with ramps.

I have the same ones. Cheap, and I leave them on the car because you never know when you will have to jack your car.

Well, I changed the oil yesterday as FortMorganAl had said with only one puck. It worked... Thanks.
When I was under there I noticed my front tires were worn on the inside bigtime (like threads, cracks, etc.). It's kinda' scary when you think of the 100+ times. I guess I need to be a little more observant.
