Bought my first Corvette 2 days before my 56th birthday. Congrats and enjoy.

Its been a long wait, but I'm glad I took the time in this forum to read about and mull over the different options, colors, mods. Changed my mind several times along the way. Finally went with CRM coupe, MN6, 3LT, F55, cashmere/ebony 2 tone. Already contemplating mods - wheels, exhaust, powder coated calipers, mats...where does it end? Doing Museum delivery in March. Should be a fun experience, and its only a 6-7 hour drive. And I'll get the break-in overwith. Hopefully weather will be Corvette-friendly by then. Ordered from Rick "Corvette" Conti at EVS. What a deal, and so easy a caveman could do it!

Jim

I also ordered a 2008 museum delivery from Rick Conti, and I definately agree about the ease of working with Rick. I ordered mine right at the time of the December price increase -- in fact, the day before. Unfortunately, their system was down and they couldn't get the order in. When the next day they saw the price increase, they still honored the price (a very good price before the increase) they quoted me, even though the car would cost them more. I didn't need to haggle, threaten to take my business elsewhere, or anything -- they just stood by their word.

It was a great contrast to another forum dealer, who shall remain nameless. I sent in a written quote request, with all options specified, and got a written quote back. It was a price too good to be true -- I think he quoted a coupe rather than a convertible. I asked for confirmation (I like a good deal, but I don't like to profit from other people's innocent mistakes), and he said "my mistake, here's the actual price". It was still a good price, so when I finished my evaluation I wanted to go with that dealer. I forwarded him his email with the price and said "I'd like to place this order", to which he replied: fine, but the price is a number that was about $1,000 higher than his previous -- confirmed -- number.

I was very disappointed, but it all worked out for the best. That's when I brought in Rick Conti, and his first -- and honored price, despite the GM price increase -- was a bit better than the other forum dealer's price I wanted to take (the price before the final increase that drove me away).

Anyways, I see you're also at code 2500. My delivery's scheduled for March 25th (I ordered a bit early to ensure I could hit that date and tkae my son on the drive back to California during his spring break). If you're there that day, maybe we'll see each other!

Congrats!
You picked the right color, hope your wait goes by quickly, and spring arrives early.

Congrats Jim. Just to let you know, I am also 51 and just ordered my CRM for a spring delivery. Almost the same options except I went with all cashmere. I started the journey in the fall and also got a lot of info on this forum.
Once again
