I'm sure its not a good idea to mix tyre manufactures, but i want to double check with you guys.
I'm looking into doing a widebody (rear only), I've only just bought new tyres all round on my standard wheels (Firestones). Looks like I can only get Goodyears for my new rear wheels. Can I salvage the front Firestones and run two different manufactures? My gut instinct is saying no.
If you do mix them, it might look kind of funny with two very different tread patterns front and rear. I don't know, maybe it's just me but I couldn't be happy with that. Good luck.
Hey I have to remind you that you speak English...you take our language and mess around with it...he he It can get kinda confusing for us Britts around here on the forum; Fenders (Wings), Hood (Bonnet), Trunk (Boot)...not forgetting you put the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car, makes it a nusance driving over here
oooh yeah NEVER say fanny to a lady in the UK phew, that has to be the worst one!!

I would not reject the idea of mixing tars out of hand. I'd probably go ahead and mount them and see what it looks like and how it handles. The worst case is you have to get new front tars.
Yes, it's tars when you live in the south.

You might as well get it all correct. Around here the rear only Z06 treatment is known as "wide booty".
Ha, calling what the younger generation speaks as English is a stretch! It's closer to trash mouth, shuck and jive, like, you know, crap that comes out. Any chance you guys might consider invading us again. Heaven knows we need some one with some culture for a change.
Besides tire rating which need to be Z rated, don't mix different brand tires (left side with right side) on front, or mix tires on the rear (fanny), will have different handling characteristics in turns.
I had a 98 T/A that I used to drag race. I used Goodyear RSA's on the front and Nitto 555 drag radials on the back. No problems. I think the RSA's were Z rated and the Nitto's were Y. I never ran over 130 MPH or auto crossed, but that combination worked fine for me. No problems on the street either. If you mix tires on the vette, I'd say you wouldn't have any problems either.

The front tyres (correct English dictionary spelling..ha!) will be Firestones, looks like the only rears I can get are Goodyears.
These will both be runflats too, i take it that is an important factor too keeping all tyres runflats?
C6's are very rare in UK, so they are not the sort of tyres I can put on Ebay and sell over here, this is why I'm asking.
....oohh yeah...another one 'color' should be spelt Colour he he

I would say you can run what you want - mix and match manufacture/makes, without any damage to your vette, as long as you have them properly paired/sized. Personally, I'm one of those guys who has to have a matching set - always seemed kind of bush-league to me to run different make/model tires...especially on a high-end vehicle.
Fanny is a completely different body part as you said. I've done some time in Scotland (Clydebank - Govan) and West Wales (Pembrokeshire /St. David's) perhaps the biggest biggest fire starter when addressing the woman folk is the employment of the "C" word and by that I mean "cow" pronounced in Scotland "kew". So stating a would-be compliment like "you have pretty cow eyes." is doomed from the start. Prepending cow with "you fat" pronounced "yew faaat kew" is like trying to pour gasoline (petrol) on an already raging fire. Yikes!
I also found it funny (Scotland in particular) the use of the American "C" word (C*&t) was used in everyday prose and conversation without the blink of an eye.
The English language is indeed a strange creature.
Regardless, other than aesthetics mixing tires should not be an issue.
