Does anyone have pictures and/or the procedure to swap out the C6 headlights? I got some black ones but don't want to tear into it until I have an idea. Thanks.

I did a search but could find anything.

You need to loosen the front fenders. Removal would be easier but not necessary. The headlight has a gasket that seals to the fender opening. Once the fender is out of the way removal is fairly straightforward. I'll post up a few pictures for you.

Just one more bit of information as far as accessing the three mounting screws for the headlamp assembly. I tried to post it last night but photobucket.com was acting up. You will need to remove the wheel liner to get at the headlamp from the bottom.

They weren't designed to be swapped out. The HID should last well beyond most owners retention. The bulbs that need to be replaced. can be accessed with a panel in the wheel well....5 minute job.

i liked the headlights on the 99-04 mustangs, those were designed great. You could literally pull it out in about 30 seconds, if anyone had one of those cars they know what im talking about, probably one of the best engineered headlight removal systems ive ever seen....if you need to take it out a lot that is

Bringing back an old thread but.... you could have a small rock chip one and you'd want to replace it. Unfortunately, I'm in this particular situation. I'm just going to wait until it worsens, then replace it.

I understand that. It really isn't all that hard to change. The rock chip while unfortunate, is not really that common. I was responding to the other poster who somehow left me with the impression that they would have preferred quick disconnects from the fender.

Great question Sam b, where did you order or get the black Light assembly? How much were they? if you don't mind me asking. Please post pic's when done.
Talon, You're the man, thanks also for the detailed description and diagram, it's people like yourself that makes this Forum rock, Salt

Boxster was a cartridge for the entire headlamp/turnsignal assy (bulbs, housing, cover, everything).

One quarter turn on a "bail" on the the inside of the trunk, and poof, it slides out on a track into your waiting hands.

15 seconds, start to finish, with a beer break in the middle.
