Are you saying that even with the new shifter, the transmission still has a tendency to hang up on the 2-3 and 4-5 shifts and visa-versa ?
I've read all the positive threads about the MGW shifter, and still have a couple of questions:
1. Does the shifter solve the "slow, notchey, moving a bunch of heavy metal" shifts that some of us MN6 drivers complain about (and I thought were transmission related)?
2. Does the shifter solve the "blocked first gear when at a stop and I've gotta move the shifter back and forth a few times with gusto before it will finally go into first gear" problem that some of us have?
Thanks in advance!

There is TSB for 1st gear lock out. I had the problem and is was addressed and I no longer have it.
I would have the 1st gear lockout taken care of first an then install the MGW.
After you install the MGW you will feel like you have a new car.
Good luck.
I had a B&M Ripper in my C5, and it made getting into 5th and 6th a lot harder. How is the MGW?
The MGW goes into all gears easily. On the other hand so did my Hurst. The MGW is a bit easier and doesn't have the "click click" when going into a gear.
1st thru 4th gears are amazing and effortless, 5th and 6th are ok but you have to be very deliberate and think about pushing to the right more than with the stock shifter. I think this will get better with use since it is such a tight assembly.

You say there is a TSB for 1st gear lockout... do you have a TSB number? My dealer wanted to pull the entire tranny and replace the 1st gear. Is this what was done for you? I'm a bit skeptical about having the dealer drop the tranny and tear it apart...

I don't have the tsb # but if you search the stickies you wikk find it,
Look for 1st gear lock out.
They do pull the tranny but my is fine now.
Ya know I have not seen my 1st to 4th light since I have the MGW installed - the shift does still go 1 to 4 as before but no light anymore - how about youse guys
