I bought a new 08 in Wi and live in IL. Taxes was not collected at the dealer in Wi. Paid my taxes, got plates and IL title at an IL DMV.
Just last week, Wi mailed me a Wi title for my car. Does that mean I have 2 title for the same vehicle for the 2 states? My IL title is suppose to be mailed to the bank that I financed thru.
Anyone have any feed back on this? Is there anything that I need to do?

I'm not an expert on titles but I would call the dealer, see what they tell you.
Next I would call my bank and talked to an auto loan manager.
If you still don't feel good about what your told, call the DMV.
You need to get this corrected now because it will haunt you later.

I have gone through the same thing. I bought a car in OH and live in NC. You will need to send the WI Title to the DMV and they will re-issue an IL title to you or if you financed it they will send it to your finance company.
BKSnoopy is right, do some calling and get this straightened out now. You should only have one title to your vehicle. I use to do titles here in GA. When we sold a unit that was going out of state we had two choices. Either we sent the MSO to the buyers state and applied for the title for him showing any lein holders or we filled out everything the way it needed to be and gave it to the buyer for them to do as they applied for their tags. Hope this helps you out.
He did say title issued in WI and title issued in IL.
I do think OP has paid for title in WI and the WI dealer needs to unwind this portion of the deal unless he never told WI dealer he was going to register it in another state (unlikely).
I'm not following this. If the car was financed you shouldn't have any title in hand. The titles should go to the lien holder. The two titles you have, do they show the lien holder on them?
Make the saleman and dealer fix it. They are the ones that screwed up. Then if you get a survey on sales satisfaction, burn them with a few completely dissatisfieds.
The Wi dealer knows I will be registering this vehicle in Il. I had no problem getting an Il title at the dmv to send to my bank.
I will do some calling and see what they have to say.
I live in Texas and bought my C5 from Michigan and picked it up at the Museum in Kentucky. My local Texas bank was confused by the whole thing. On top of that the Michigan Dealer sent the MSO to me directly before I had even picked the car up. My loan officer completely flipped out on that one.
Weird thing was that I picked up the car in Kentucky I had MI temporary plates with a certified copy of the Texas title. I was just waiting to get pulled over to explain that one on the drive back to Houston.

Did you check the Vin. number on the title? They may have sent you someone else’s title. I'm sure you will get it all taken care of...
