Here's the good news: I have the build date for my 08 Silver Convertible.
Here's the bad news: It's February 14th -- Valentine' Day.
Since I live in California, there's no way I can both be there for the build as well as be at home with my wife.
So now I need to find a way to convince her to come with me to Bowling Green so I can go on the owner's tour. My wife tolerates my interest in vettes, but doesn't really share it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can see my car's marriage without jeopardizing my own? Are there any particularly romantic restaurants I can take her to for dinner that night?
Congrats on your Vette - don't know about restaurants ~ but there is a nice Harley dealership on the other side of the interstate ~ if she doesn't like Vettes....shes gotta love Harleys...buy her a new scooter
No, but remember: diamonds are a girl's best friend, so the saying goes.....which means, you could say, there's something I want to give you, but it only happens in ... gee whiz! Bowling Green!
Just say you are taking her on a romantic get away to Kentuky and send her to a spa day then take her out to dinner and say they just happen to call and have your car done lol
or get your priorities straight and get the car then take her out to dinner jk. but I would say that valentines day is once a year while the "average" person on sees their car built once
I have an idea for you... Do an early flight in the day after.. you want to do the buyers tour on the second day, not the first.. the first day isn't as much fun from what my customers tell me. the second day is when you see the car really come together. This will solve your problem and save you from many nights on the couch and give you a chance to have your cake and eat it too!

I’m sure if she loves you, she will want to give you the trip to BG as a valentine present. You must have confidence in her. If she gets mad at you for wanting to take the tour, I would consider trading her in for a ZR1 … when available.

Depending on length of marriage and state laws, the ZR1 might actually wind up being more affordable.
