I just went to open the door on the vette and realized I didn't have my Fob but as my fingers touched the pad the window went down and the door opened. I checked again and no key!
I closed the door and went around to the drivers side but it was locked. Went back to the passenger's side and it was locked.
you discharged your stored fob capacitance when you opened the door. you'll have to carry the fob another 48 hours to restore the charge. it's in the manual...page 214.

I just reproduced your event. I have autolocking enabled with a horn beep.
1. With the FOB I opened the driver's door, got in and closed the door.
2. Having not started the engine, I opened the driver's door and exited the car.
3. Briskly walked around the back of the car to the passenger fender where I paused.
4. Walked around the front of the car out of the garage and removed the FOB from my pocket.
5. Back into the garage to the passenger door and it opens. I knew it would since there was no beep while I was standing at the passenger side in step 3.
6. Closed the passenger door and walked around to the driver's side at which point the car beeped indicating it was locking.
7. Tried to open the driver's door and confirmed that it was locked.
This refusal to autolock is a very repeatable scenario on my car that others report never happens. If I exit the car and walk briskly around to the passenger side, the autolock doesn't work. I have never found another sequence that results in failure to lock. Others have reported they don't trust the autolock because they once discovered that it didn't work. In other words, the autolock function works for me every time except if I walk around the back of the car and arrive at the passenger door area about the time the autolock is checking to see the FOB is gone. It does not beep to indicate the FOB is still inside, it just doesn't lock.

The window went down by itself???? Never heard of that unless possibly you have one of the auto window devices connected to the OBDII connector. If you do have one of them, then I would be looking at it real quick or removing it. If you don't have it, then a trip to the dealer is needed.

I often find mine unlocked even with autolock on.. so i've learned to always lock car as i'm walking away to make sure..
I have autolock turned off. I want to hear the horn beep when I push the button and KNOW that it locked. It also makes it almost impossible to ever lock the fob in the car. You pull it out of your pocket and you have it in your hand as you exit.

capcitance? do you mean ca·pac·i·tance ?
I'll just look on page 214. Hmmm...
